What do I need to become a professional pilot?

1

Engagement. Dedication. Consistency.

This is the trifle of success. Engagement in aviation, dedication to reading and studying, dedication and consistency to the obligations created by the process of obtaining a professional pilot license.

2

Health

You must be in very good health. Before you enroll and before you start training you must pass the aviation medical examination. Medical examination is conducted at approved medical centers, the Aero Medical Centers (AeMC's). Fas Pilot Academy experienced staff will help you with any arrangement needed in order to participate to the aviation medical examination.

3

English Language

You need to know and speak good English. It does not matter which degree or language certification you have. In order to be able to start the training you have to go through a test of English used in aviation, the TOEFA © Exam. This must be done in certified testing centers. FAS Pilot Academy holds a certification that meets all the quality criteria of ICAO Language Proficiency requirements for TOEFA © Examination (Test Of English for Aviation), and hence is an approved ICAO / TOEFA © Examination Centre.

4

Age

You must be at least 18 years old.

5

Education level

You must have completed your basic school education. If you have a college or university degree even better but this is not necessary.

How can I get a professional pilot's license?

To obtain a professional pilot's license you must attend an approved faculty from the EASA. Approved Training Organizations (ATO's) have all the means to be able to get your license. Once you have completed your studies (theoretical and flying training), then you can pass a test at the Civil Aviation Authority. Exams concern both theoretical knowledge and knowledge of airworthiness.

How long does it take to obtain a professional pilot's license?

Usually 14 to 16 months. It depends, of course, on your performance as a student, the weather conditions, the proper planning of the school you choose, etc. Fas Pilot Academy's experienced ground and flight instructors in collaboration with planning and maintenance departments guarantee training without unnecessary delays, resulting training phases completion on time according to the regulations.

Which flight training organization to choose?

The flight training organization you choose should be in a country with good weather so your flight training time is not affected by possible bad weather conditions. Greece and especially southern Greece is considered to be the best choice for flight training because it has ideal weather conditions, about 270 days a year sunshine and long daytime mainly in the months from March to October (sunrise at 06:00, sunset at 19:30). FAS Pilot Academy, located in southern Greece has premises and facilities at Attica/Megara, Pachi Airport (flight training) and Attica/Markopoulo, Athens International Airport Area (ground school premises).
